Long (approx. 150 words)

Mummatto is a Finnish textile art studio led by artist-weaver Tuuli. The studio handweaves limited edition, unique textile artworks where Scandinavian minimalism meets bold color composition. The pieces are designed to be both functional and works of art for everyday life. The work exists in the space between craftsmanship, daily use, and visual arts. The pieces come to life slowly in Finland on traditional looms, layer by layer. Thanks to the weaving process, artistic vision, and varying materials, each piece becomes truly one of a kind. Everything is handwoven from cotton and carefully selected upcycled materials. Tuuli produces fewer than twenty pieces a year, honoring the slow rhythm of handweaving. The available pieces are unique original works; any design can also serve as a reference for a commissioned piece. The works are available in the online gallery and at curated art and design events.

Questions for press and media

How do I request high-resolution images?

The press kit includes logos, icons, brand colors, and boilerplate texts, but not artwork images. You can browse the works in the online gallery. For high-resolution images or specific croppings, please email tuuli@mummatto.com with the details of your request.

Can I use Mummatto's works in editorial content?

Yes, for editorial and media content. You may use images from the online gallery as well as the logos and brand materials from the press kit. Please credit Mummatto and artist Tuuli, for example: Made by Tuuli, Mummatto. A link to the mummatto.com website is appreciated.

Does Mummatto accept press or studio visits?

We occasionally organize press visits by appointment. Availability is limited because the work is handwoven. Please provide your publication's details and a proposed time, and we will respond within three business days.

What is the production time for commissioned works?

Commissioned works are completed in three months for rugs up to 70 cm wide, and in six months for wider pieces. This reflects the artist's annual capacity and the slow rhythm of handweaving. We do not offer expedited production.

How should Mummatto be credited in a publication?

Please credit Mummatto and artist Tuuli, for example: Made by Tuuli, Mummatto. When referring to a specific work, you can mention its title. A link to the mummatto.com website is appreciated so readers can find the studio.
